A geolocation (GPS) system has been installed in the City Car Rental IKE fleet. These systems are activated exclusively in the event of vehicle theft and only after the lessee or driver has been informed. 18. Genetic Engineering Application Data
City Car Rental IKE has installed Geolocation (GPS) devices in its vehicles. The system is activated to locate the vehicle in cases of theft or misappropriation, or when the vehicle is not returned on time and communication with the lessee is not possible. The application provides data on:
Vehicle check-in (Smart Check-in): assessment of usage and data such as mileage and fuel level.
Information on the vehicle’s maintenance status.
Management of incidents with significant damage to the vehicle.
Asset Inventory: Accurately locating and recording company vehicles for management and reporting.
This technology is also used to ensure compliance with Road Traffic Code regulations and to check that the driver is an authorised person under the lease agreement. In the event of a breach of the terms of hire or legislation being found, the insurance cover provided by the company will cease. The legal basis for this processing is the legitimate interest in protecting the ownership and safe operation of the company’s vehicles.
