When 6 to 9 people travel together, a minibus is usually the simplest option. First of all, you all travel together in one vehicle, without losing each other on the road. In addition, you need one driver, one parking space and one tank of fuel. The long version of the Transporter also has more room for suitcases behind the seats. For pilgrims: Mount Athos and the monasteries of Northern Greece

• Ouranoupoli and Mount Athos: drive to Ouranoupoli in Halkidiki, leave the van in a car park and continue by boat. Visitors’ cars are not allowed on Mount Athos.
• Souroti: the Holy Monastery of St John the Theologian, where St Paisios is buried.
• Vasilika: the Holy Monastery of St Anastasia the Pharmakolytria.

Good to know about Mount Athos: only men may enter. Every pilgrim needs a diamonitirion (entry permit) from the Pilgrims’ Bureau. The number of visitors per day is limited, so book early. Women in the group can see the monasteries from the sea on the sightseeing cruises that leave from Ouranoupoli.

Van rental in Thessaloniki: pick-up at the airport or in the centre

Collect the van at our office in Thessaloniki city centre or at Thessaloniki Airport (SKG). Delivery is free from 07:30 to 20:30; from 21:00 to 07:00 there is a night charge of €25. If your flight is delayed, we wait for you. We do not deliver the van to hotels in Halkidiki: you collect it in Thessaloniki and drive there yourselves.

Van rental terms

• Age: the driver must be at least 25 years old.
• Licence: a normal car licence is enough. Non-EU licences also need an International Driving Permit, except licences from the UK, the USA and Australia.
• Mileage: up to 4 days, 150 km per day. More than 4 days, unlimited kilometres.
• Deposit: we block no amount on your card.
• Additional drivers: free, so you can share the driving on long trips.
• Where you can drive: only within Greece. Ferries to Greek islands are allowed, other countries are not.
• Cancellation: free if nothing was prepaid. Prepaid bookings cancelled 21 days or more before pick-up are refunded in full.
• Insurance: we tell you the insurance terms for the van before you book, together with the price.

No. We rent the van without a driver and someone from your group drives it. Additional drivers are free.

No. It is a 9 seater passenger van for trips and holidays, not a cargo van for furniture.

Can I take the van to another country?

No. The van may only be driven within Greece, but you can take it by ferry to a Greek island.
